Carolyn Long’s New Ad Highlights the ‘Cycles’ of Prescription Drug Costs
VANCOUVER, WA — Today, Carolyn Long, candidate for Congress in Washington’s 3rd Congressional district, launched another TV ad this cycle. Long’s new 30-second ad, Cycle, shows the viewer first hand why prescription drugs are so expensive.
“No one should have to make the choice between putting food on the table and life-saving medication. Carolyn understands that,” said Abby Olmstead, Campaign Manager. “In this election, Southwest Washington has a choice between a career politician whose decade in office is defined by hundreds of thousands of dollars in insurance and pharmaceutical industry contributions, which cyclically drives up costs, and Carolyn Long — who will address the outrageous price of prescription drugs, and work with providers to make them affordable for everyone.”
SCRIPT: Cycle
Why are prescription drugs so expensive? It’s a cycle.
Politicians like Jaime Herrera Beutler run for Congress.
And the prescription drug industry funds her campaign.
She votes to give those big drug companies big tax breaks and lets them raise prices.
And they rake it in.
So when it’s campaign season again, there’s more money to give out.
And we get? Higher prescription drug costs.
We’ve got to put a stop to this. I’m Carolyn Long and I approve this message.
