Carolyn Long Releases First TV Ad of the WA-03 Congressional Campaign
Ad highlights the importance of the central issue of the 2020 campaign: health care
Vancouver, WA — Today, Carolyn Long for Congress is launching the first TV ad of the cycle in Washington’s 3rd District with a six figure ad buy. Carolyn’s new ad, “Personal,” tells the story of how Carolyn lost her mother to cancer after being too afraid to go to the doctor because of health care costs. Health care is the most important issue of the 2020 campaign, and Carolyn is tired of DC politicians that have been bought and paid for by corporate interests hurting our community.
“Carolyn Long knows, as we all do, that access to health care is out of reach for far too many,” said Abby Olmstead, Campaign Manager for Carolyn Long. “The current pandemic has only heightened the need for access to affordable health care immediately. The incumbent has taken $145,000 from the health insurance and pharmaceutical industry, and bragged about voting to eliminate protections for those with pre-existing conditions. Carolyn is committed to fighting to ensure no one else has to go through what she and her family did, and the first step is kicking Rep. Herrera Beutler out of office.”

The last time I saw my mom, I asked her to see a doctor — and two days later, she had died.
It was cancer.
We didn’t know. She was more afraid of medical bills than her diagnosis.
We’re in a public health crisis, and so many are facing the same terrifying choices.
Between corporate money and partisan politics, the politicians won’t fix this.
I’m Carolyn Long. I’m running for Congress, and I approve this message because fixing our health care has never been more urgent.
