The District

Southwest Washington is an exceptional place full of towns of all sizes, beautiful public land, wonderful working agriculture and vibrant communities throughout. As a professor at WSU Vancouver for the last 24 years, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting students from every corner of the district. From Ilwaco to Goldendale, Centralia to Vancouver, we all embrace what makes this district special.

ICYMI: My favorite hike is Goat Mountain. Thirteen miles round trip!

I know the people in this district aren’t interested in problems without solutions. I know they’re interested in how do we get where we need to go. I know we feel left behind by Washington DC politicians.

I know this because, in 2018, I made a point to travel to every community I could and hold a Town Hall and speak with the community. Listening to the concerns and the solutions put forward by our community members is incredibly inspiring. I’m looking forward to hearing from folks from every county (Thurston, Lewis, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Skamania, Klickitat and Clark) this year, next year and for all the years afterward.

My promise to the people of 3rd Congressional District: You’ll hear from me, and I’ll hear from you, in-person in your town, where you are at.
