Carolyn Long Challenges Jaime Herrera Beutler to a Series of Debates
‘Southwest Washingtonians deserve to see both of us on the virtual debate stage before November’
VANCOUVER, WA —On Wednesday, Carolyn Long, candidate for Congress in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District, challenged incumbent Jaime Herrera Beutler to three formal debates. This debate series should take place in communities across the district on a virtual platform live-streamed, and then made accessible to people across Southwest Washington.
“Southwest Washingtonians deserve to see both of us on the virtual debate stage before November,” said Long. “Now, more than ever, the people in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District need to hear how both candidates plan to address the public health and economic crises facing our communities. I look forward to showing voters how my problem solving approach and policy proposals to everyday challenges differ from my opponent.”
Long is committed to transparency and accessibility. On Friday, she will hold her 8th Facebook Live Town Hall this cycle and her 54th town hall since the 2018 cycle.
“I am committed to being present and accountable to the people of Southwest Washington. I am working hard every single day to virtually meet people where they are, and to fight for the policies we care most about.”
Carolyn Long is running for Congress in Southwest Washington (WA-03) for the 2020 election. She previously was the Democratic nominee for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District in 2018. She resides in Vancouver with her family and teaches at WSU-Vancouver. Long has served Southwest Washington for more than 25 years, as a WSU college professor and community leader.
